Monro B. LanierHickory Venture GroupMonro B. Lanier, III joined Hickory in 1987. He has invested and held board seats in a wide variety of companies ranging from software to electronics to medical devices to basic manufacturing. Mr. Lanier serves on the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies, is a member of the Venture Capital Institute's Education Committee, and is an officer of the Southern Association of SBIC's.
Prior to joining Hickory, he was involved in corporate planning and acquisition work for a multinational oil and gas company. Before graduate school, Mr. Lanier worked as an economic analyst for a large manufacturing company. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia's Darden School and a B.A. in Economics from The University of Virginia. He has also served as an officer in the US military.
