Maqbool Patel Joins CircleSource as Chief Information Officer

 

Birmingham, Alabama - March 16, 2007 CircleSource, Inc. today announced the appointment of Maqbool Patel as Chief Information Officer. In his new position, Dr. Patel will be responsible for driving the company's technological capabilities to meet client demands as the firm continues expands its market penetration and its geographic reach.

Dr. Patel obtained his bachelors' and masters' degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, and later earned a doctorate in Computer Engineering from Drexel University. He was a faculty member at the University of Minnesota's Radiology Department, concentrating on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) research. He has to his credit several peer reviewed publications in international journals and book chapters in prestigious publications like Academic Press and CRC Publications.

After 3 years at Minnesota, Dr. Patel joined GE Medical Systems as Lead Designer where he worked for nine years holding several positions of increasing responsibility, including architect, manager and director of engineering. He later joined Emageon as Director of Platform Engineering before becoming Vice-President of Technology Integration.
