Huntsville, Ala., - April 10 /PR Newswire/ -- Mobular Technologies™, formerly Science Communications, today announced that it has raised $5M in financing co-led by ABS Ventures, an affiliate of Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, and Southeastern Technology Fund. John Burke (ABS) and Emerson Fann (SET) will take seats on Mobular Technologies' board of directors. The capital will be used for product development and sales and marketing expansion. Mobular Technologies' rebranding initiative is to more effectively reflect its key information mobilization offerings.

Mobular Technologies is a fast growing information management solutions company holding numerous patent-pending technologies which enable the creation and mobilization of high-value databases from any number of sources including web content, product catalogs, pdf libraries, and disparate databases. With Mobular's product suite, websites, product catalogs, and other high value information are taken directly to consumers, put in their inbox or on their desktop, and made interactive, and kept continuously up-to-date. Mobular's flagship product, EmailEngines (TM), combats slow Internet connectivity issues and search deficiencies by putting a sophisticated search engine and its supporting data right into an email inbox or computer desktop without exceeding file size limitations, including attachments, or tapping the network. Consumers can now search for desired information where and when they want it -- and quickly. Because the entire package is compressed to a very small size, the interactive information can be deployed to wireless or hand- held devices, via email, or via the web.

Furthermore, Mobular enables the ability to create a desktop channel for continuous data updates with its "save to desktop" feature and also facilitates the viral marketing application of "forward to a friend." Mobular delivers fully searchable multimedia information for applications such as training manuals, financial news packages, corporate reports, supply chain or partner relationship management reports, and airline flight planners -- with the key benefits of ensuring that the information is always current, always persistent, always interactive, and truly mobile. Mobular also tracks user activity and can deliver realtime marketing data and consumer behavior reports.

"The advanced technology behind Mobular's offerings and its ability to transform the way that consumers and businesses interact with each other via email, wireless devices, and the web were key selling points for our investment in the company," said John Burke of ABS Ventures. "Mobular's EmailEngines product transforms email from primarily a marketing vehicle to an enterprise knowledge management tool."

"Mobular's technology represents tremendous potential in the e-business market, as it facilitates greater communication between companies, suppliers, vendors and customers," said Emerson Fann of Southeastern Technology Fund. "By combining the number-one Web site activity, search, with the number-one Internet application, e-mail, EmailEngines has the potential to truly revolutionalize information management."

"We are delighted to introduce Mobular Technologies as the enabling solution provider for information management," said Stuart Obermann, Mobular Chairman and CEO. "With support from our new investors, Mobular will be able to aggressively execute its business plan and continue to provide innovative solutions for leading enterprise companies to accelerate their e-business strategies -- providing for more accessible, truly mobile information."
