Huntsville, AL, October 3, 2007 - Today, AITA announced that Kevin Maney (biography), contributing editor and essayist for Conde Nast Portfolio and previous 22-year veteran technology columnist and senior technology reporter at USA Today will provide the keynote speech October 25th at the 4th Annual AITA Leadership in Technology Awards Banquet.

Maney is also the author of the critically-acclaimed The Maverick and His Machine: Thomas Watson Sr. and the Making of IBM, published in 2003 by John Wiley & Sons. Maney also wrote the 1995 BusinessWeek bestseller Megamedia Shakeout. He is at work on a third book to be published by Doubleday. He often appears on television and radio, and has appeared regularly on PBS, NPR, CNBC and other media outlets. He is a frequent keynote speaker and on-state interviewer.

The AITA Leadership Banquet is held in each year to highlight and honor Alabama's brightest technology innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders. The categories for nominations are Large and Small Company of the Year, Technology Executive of the Year, and Entrepreneur of the year - with special recognition to a Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to that individual who has consistently contributed to industry growth over the last twenty-year time span.

The Leadership Banquet will be held in Huntsville for the first time this year, October 25th and the VBC.

"Given Mr. Maney's professional background, he will certainly bring some synchronicity to this technology gala event, which will be filled with those who know his work and share his interests in technology innovation. The AITA Board is pleased to welcome Mr. Maney to Alabama," said Kate Gray, Executive Director of AITA.
